As we consider the changing landscape of the university campus and culture and how it is constantly being shaped by Global events, we see now more than ever the need for collegiate ministry, that disciples students to understand their sacred vocation and calling to bring the Kingdom of God into their world. As we walk, pray and listen to God on campus, our ears and hearts become aware of the need to bring kingdom and address these needs in a life giving and relevant way. We may have to change our methods, become more diverse and posture ourselves in a way to be where the students are.
To do this, our ministries need to be able to provide skilled and passionate staff that will empower and equip students and alumni into this calling. This presents many challenges and opportunities of its own, making it important that we think outside the box and cooperate with one another in mutual support, sharing our strengths with one another to help each ministry thrive during these unique days. In order to staff, we may need to consider strategic partnerships with other ministries and churches, part time/bi-vocational staff, volunteers and apprenticeships. These are some many ideas and resources that we each have that can be shared with each other. This, we believe is one of the ways that the ACM will be able to carry out our vision to make disciples.
Here is a map that we have put together that will help us better meet these needs:
Our ACM goal is to help members have fully staffed teams of the right people at the right time in the right place who are fully funded. We hope that these efforts will help support all of our ministries as we take steps forward to make a big impact on campus.

- Identify staff needs - Gather information from member ministries. These can include staff vacancies and openings, internships and apprenticeships, support raising challenges and training, new staff assessments and placement. Here is a link to a survey that will gather that information for your ministry. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScwcQ9mTinXnHyjCCGgp07G__-_JlD9cdT3xqVA-1b8QWYqXQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
- Recruiting - Take advantage of events and gathering where we can share the unique ministry opportunities that is collegiate ministry. These are not limited to ICOM, E4 conferences, College career fairs, etc. Create strategic job postings and encourage current interns and graduates to consider Campus Ministry as a career. Create a general interest form that will communicate these openings as well as making job descriptions and applications available. Here is a survey that we can use to help gather interest in campus ministry https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfBrilzDu3eLIA6DIKPUL1DKbXvu9G5V2tPNEj2hcGpUdANcA/viewform?usp=sf_link
- Application and Assessment - Gather applications and begin the process of assessment testing and following up with references. Schedule a group assessment, utilizing our collective resources and expertise to interview, evaluate and place recruits in ministry opportunities that fit best for the recruit as well as for the ministry. We are looking to schedule a group assessment May 21-24, 2021 in Indianapolis, IN
- Support - Once placement is made, providing the recruit with resources and coaching that will help them reach full support within one year or less. This can include Support Raising Solutions bootcamp that the ACM can provide.
